It’s never too early to start holiday shopping

Nothing lights up a golfer’s eyes more than new gear and equipment. With new gear comes up optimism, and with optimism comes confidence, and with confidence comes better golf. Or at least, that’s what we tell ourselves. But more than just better golf on the course, cool new gear helps us look good off the course. And just the right logo can help bring a golfer back to the place he or she is happiest. Because of this, you know that for a golfer just about any golf-related Christmas gift is as close to a can’t-miss prospect as one [...]

The reopening of Big Meadow is met with near-perfect weather

The list of the greatest gifts a golfer could receive would be long and varied. But high on the list, especially in regions that experience every bit of all four seasons, is an unexpected week of mild weather that works to stretch the golf season just a bit longer. Glaze Meadow has officially closed for the season, but Big Meadow has reopened all 18 holes holes after the Black Butte Ranch’s maintenance staff spent the last week aerifying its greens. And Big Meadow’s reopening could hardly come at a better time. Indeed, a gift has come to Central Oregon [...]

Booking in fall has some definite advantages

Sometimes the 2018 golf season can feel so far away. After all, the 2017 season is just beginning to wind down and winter is just ahead, leaving a few precious weeks left for golf at Black Butte Ranch. Mercifully, though, 2018 will be here before you know it, and it will soon be time to cast the mittens, scarves, and stocking caps aside and get back out on the golf course. We can hardly wait. Which is why now is the ideal time to begin planning your 2018 golf trip to Black Butte Ranch, particularly larger groups of 12 [...]

Get Ready For Snow At Black Butte Ranch

The leaves are starting to fall and before we know it so will the snow. When the snow covers central Oregon, it becomes a different world. The snow produces trails, dusts the ponderosa pines, and creates a white world for us to get out and explore. Just because the snow is covering everything does not mean we are stuck indoors. You can snowshoe, cross-country ski, or jump into the plush pile of snow. At Black Butte Ranch we encourage you to get outside this winter and have fun in the snow. We offer all the amenities to make sure [...]

Last Day of Glaze’ Tournament will end season with a bang

Two-person Stableford will mark a fun end to another fantastic golf season at Glaze Meadow How best to say goodbye to the 2017 golf season? Sure, a golfer can squeeze as many rounds in as possible or frantically try to fix whatever bad habits developed over the season before the snow first flies. Those are never bad ideas. But Black Butte Ranch’s “Last Day at Glaze” Shotgun tournament will once again offer another fun alternative to just another round when we send Glaze Meadow off for the season. Glaze Meadow is scheduled to be the first of Black Butte [...]

Golf season is not over yet

Mild weather, fantastic conditions on tap at Black Butte Ranch Who said the golf season ends before Labor Day? At Black Butte Ranch, there is still so much fantastic golf to be played. In fact, October in Central Oregon can be a wonderful time for golfers, filled with relatively dry, mild days, autumn colors, and golf courses free of the summer crowds. This is no vague notion either. The forecast at Black Butte Ranch could hardly be better, with high temperatures in the 60s and hardly a cloud in sight. Best of all, Black Butte Ranch has dropped to [...]
