How to Train, Race, and Recover at BBR

Preparation for a successful race can take months, but your hard work doesn’t need to stop when you arrive at our Central Oregon resort. By selecting our 1,800-acre ranch as your adventure basecamp, you’ll have everything you need to succeed in whichever race you’re participating in. 

1. Train

We have all the equipment necessary to get in some last-minute training before race day. Go for a ride on our 18-miles of paved bike trails, run on a treadmill in the fitness center, or work on your swimming in the indoor and outdoor pool complexes. Improve your endurance and stamina by visiting hiking trails like Black Butte, Mt. Washington, and The Sisters. 

A crucial part of training is keeping up with your diet and eating right. Our on-site restaurants offer a wide range of dishes, from snacks to something a little more hearty. We’ll have even more selection for you when the Lodge opens in 2023. 

2. Race

The variety of races in Central Oregon means there is something for everyone, including rock climbing, eco racing, triathlons, mountain biking, and more. Some of the most popular options include:

  • The Cascades Relay: Start at Diamond Lake Resort and travel through the outback into Bend.

  • Pole, Pedal, Paddle: A relay race in Bend featuring six legs of different sports like alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, running, and kayaking.

3. Recover
