Black Butte Ranch will inspire you to take your game to new heights.

Tennis enthusiasts may utilize 14 outdoor tennis courts throughout the Ranch, including three lighted courts. Pickleball enthusiasts may utilize 12 beautiful regulation outdoor pickleball courts. Our Black Butte Ranch on-site Head Tennis Instructor, Jed Kizziar and Head pickleball Pro, Mitch Foster offer private and group lessons.

Meet others in tennis and pickleball skill levels in our stunning natural environment.

Court reservations are required on most courts from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Call 541-595-1285 or stop by the GMRC Rec Counter to reserve your court, rent a racket or schedule a lesson.

Court reservations are available the day prior to play and the day of play. Reservations may be made by calling 541-595-1285 or stopping by the recreation counter at GMRC. Court reservations are limited to two hours of play per day per household, except in the case of the lighted courts which are limited to one hour of play during the evening period after 7 pm. Reservation courts that are not in use 10 minutes after the hour become available for drop-in play until the next reservation.

JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMS

Mini Aces | Wednesday & Friday 9:00am – 9:30am
A playful introduction to tennis through movement-based games that build coordination, confidence, teamwork, and basic stroke skills. Ages 6-8: $15/Class

Rising Ralliers | Wednesday & Friday 9:30am – 10:15am
Players rally quickly using age-appropriate equipment while building athletic skills, strong fundamentals, and a love for the game. Ages 6-8: $30/Class

Future Champions | Wednesday & Friday 10:15am – 11:30am
Designed for developing players ready to level up. Focus includes stroke technique, rally consistency, scoring, strategy, and match play confidence. Ages 9-12: $50/Class

Game On Academy | Thursday 11:00am – 12:30pm
Fast-paced, competitive training that includes: advanced stroke developement, competitive drills, liveball plat, and match play. Ages 13-18: $40/Class

A high-energy tennis workout featuring dynamic warm ups, fast drills, live-ball action, and cool down. $35/Class

Fast-paced doubles play focused on tactics, communication, positioning, and competitive point play. $35/Class

Sunset Social Tennis | Wednesday 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Pickleball Drop-in Play

Drop-In Play is one in which players drop in, without reservations and play other Drop-In players. It is for those individuals or groups of less than 4 to come and play with others. It provides a structure of rotating players into games and better utilizes the courts. Each session of drop-in play is different depending on the skill level of those who participate. (Drop-in play is not designed for the same players to play together for an hour or two–please make a court reservation.)

Courts # 5 and # 6 will be for drop-in play for Recreational Players (3.0 +/-)

A paddle holder will be provided for each designated area identified above. Paddles furthest right are up next. When game concludes the next player(s) rotate in. Posted on sandwich board lists skills required for each level. Players self-select your skill level.

Drop -in players have priority for courts during drop-in session. However other players may use empty courts until they are needed to meet drop-in demand.

Pickleball Rentals

$8 for a one-hour rental from the GMRC Recreation Desk. Includes one racket and a few balls.

Pickleball Practice Machine Reservations

BBR Pickleball Owners purchased the pickleball practice machine for owners use. It is available for BBR owners who are trained in its use and storage. Reserve GMRC Court #12 and indicate the pickleball machine will be in use. Maximum use of 1 hr. a day. Can reserve 1 day in advance. Due to battery limitations a maximum of 3 different owners may reserve the machine per day.

Controlling The Net (Adults)
Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Become a master of the “Kitchen.” This session focuses on technical dinking, aggressive volleys, and defensive resets, teaching you how to outmaneuver your opponents once you’ve reached the NVZ. $50/person

Ground Strokes (Adults)
Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Build a rock-solid foundation from the baseline. We’ll refine your forehand and backhand forms to ensure every drive is consistent, powerful, and deep enough to keep your opponents on their heels. $50/person

Competition Friday (Adults)
Fridays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Put your training to the ultimate test in a high-stakes, structured match-play environment. This is the place to apply your skills under pressure and earn those weekend bragging rights. $50/person

PASS Academy Drill (Adults)
