A Look at the Average Climate and Conditions in Central Oregon

Found on the sunny side of the Cascade Mountains, our cabin rentals are surrounded by stunning scenery. The lush landscape’s beauty changes as the seasons go, which means you can always see our grounds in a new light. To help you decide the best time of year to visit, we’ve put together a snapshot of what each season brings with it.

Spring

From March through May, temperatures start to increase slowly. Average daily highs increase from the mid-40s to the high 60s. Nights still remain cool, but nothing a thicker jacket or sweatshirt can’t handle. For anyone looking to enjoy a spring break getaway with us, there are several ways to take in the season’s beauty, including visiting the Deschutes National Forest or fly fishing at Phalarope Lake.

Summer

Summer is one of the most popular times to visit our ranch, and for good reason. Unlike some parts of the country, temperatures remain high but pleasant, averaging around the high-70s. With limited rainfall, you can spend as much time outdoors as possible. Enjoy these idyllic conditions on a whitewater rafting tour with Sun Country Tours or out on one of our world-class golf courses.

Fall

Temperatures begin to drop between September and November. By the end of November, the thermometer sits around the mid-40s, with rainfall increasing. These conditions combine for stunning fall foliage. Go leaf-peeping on mountain hikes with sweeping views like those at Black Butte or a horseback ride with Black Butte Stables.

Winter

If you love the cold and snow that winter brings, you’ll love visiting our Sisters ranch. Temperatures settle in around the mid-40s, and snow is known to accumulate between December and February. Our grounds become a winter wonderland once the snow starts falling, and there are several ways to enjoy it. Go skiing at HooDoo Ski Area or set off snowshoeing on our paved trails.
