Weather cooperating with Black Butte Ranch golfers

The famously warm days and blue skies that have made Black Butte Ranch one of Central Oregon’s most popular escapes sometimes have to wait. Not this year. So far the spring of 2018 has been a kind one to Black Butte Ranch, particularly the last few weeks when the warm glow of the Central Oregon sun has been a consistent visitor.

In fact, 70 degrees and sunny have been the norm so far this May, and the relatively warm stretch is forecasted to last well into next week, just in time for Memorial Day.

The news could hardly be sweeter for Black Butte Ranch golfers. WithBig Meadow or Glaze Meadow now open for the golf season — and both nearing peak condition — fantastic rates and unlimited golf available, and postcard-perfect weather, golf season at Black Butte Ranch is already in full swing.

“We have been really fortunate so far this year,” said Jeff Fought, Black Butte Ranch’s director of golf. “The weather turned relatively early, and that makes for a longer peak golf season as both courses round into midseason shape.”

Golfers who take advantage of the weather will find two golf courses at Black Butte Ranch with emerald-green fairways and healthy putting surfaces that are nearing summer speeds. And one of the main benefits of an early run of great Central Oregon weather is that the rates are lower than during peak season at a time when the courses themselves are nearing perfect form.

Black Butte Ranch’s regular green fees at either Big Meadow or Glaze Meadow are $69. After noon the rate drops to $59, and after 3 p.m., the rate falls to just $44. Golfers who want to play nine, can play for just $39 after noon.

Guests from out of town can take advantage of some fantastic golf unlimited stay-and-play packages that begin at just $99 per person, per night. And single round packages begin at just $119 per person, per night, all summer long.

“When we have a spring like this, it ends up being a golden opportunity for golfers,” Fought said. “Our rates are awesome, and the courses are in peak-season shape.”

Memorial Day tends to be one of Black Butte Ranch’s busiest weekends, but there are still prime tee times available at both golf courses. Take advantage of what will be an incredible week of golf.
