Metolius Preserve (~11 minute drive from Ranch entrance)
This month, we have an opportunity to branch out and help in a special, environmentally significant place in our Black Butte region. Join us and the Deschutes Land Trust for an early summer trail work party at the Metolius Preserve. We’ll be working on the Preserve’s Larch Trails, helping cut back encroaching vegetation and pulling some weeds. This collaboration will help keep the Preserve’s trails in shape for the community to enjoy while improving habitat for wildlife by pulling non-native weeds.
Rating: Work party with moderate physical activity.
What to Bring: Work gloves (if you have them), sturdy hiking shoes, snacks, water. Dress for the weather.
If you plan to participate in this work party, please sign up on our website, blackbutteconservancy.org/volunteer, and select “Work Party”.
We deeply appreciate our community members who volunteer for our work parties.
