The energy at Black Butte Ranch is palpable. The pools and restaurants are bustling with activity, the golf courses are in full bloom. Ah yes, there is nothing quite like July at Black Butte Ranch.
Of course, July is easily one of the best times to play Glaze Meadow and Big Meadow, which are both serving up ideal conditions and a schedule of awesome events.
Up first in what should be another spectacular July is Black Butte Ranch’s annual Fourth of July Demo Day & Sidewalk Sale. The event, which be held on Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2, is more intimate than Black Butte Ranch’s Memorial Day Weekend Demo Days & Tent Sale, but still offers a fresh look at new equipment and significant discounts on gear.
Cobra Golf and TaylorMade will be on hand for Demo Day, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Big Meadow driving range. With only two manufacturers taking center stage, golfers will have the opportunity to truly dig in and put the latest and greatest equipment to the test.
“Smaller demo days really provide a special opportunity,” says Jeff Fought, director of golf at Black Butte Ranch. “With two of the top manufacturers here, it really allows for golfers to focus in on the two brands and sink their teeth into the entire lines of new equipment.”
The Sidewalk Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and the discounts will be significant: as much as 70 percent off merchandise, logo wear, clubs, shoes and accessories. The deals will be hard to resist. But even if you pass on the big buy, it should make for a fun two days. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. MORE IN JULY
A new month means a new golf special. Black Butte Ranch’s peak season summer golf special has just begun. Each day through July 31, before 7:30 a.m. or from noon to 2 p.m., golfers are invited to play either Big Meadow or Glaze Meadow for just $64. The price drops to $59 after 2 p.m. Call 888-965-5745 or make tee times online.
Black Butte Ranch will host its three-day ladies-only golf school through the month (dates July 5-7, July 11-13, and July 18-20). Designed for women of all abilities, the clinic is designed to be productive sessions that are non-intimidating no matter the skill level.
The two-day, 100-Yards-and-In Clinic (July 1-2, July 8-9, July 15-17, July 22-23, and July 29-30) continue through July. The clinic focuses solely on the short game, which is perhaps the quickest way way to shave strokes.
Thursday afternoons at Glaze Meadow are for the kids. Every Thursday through August, Glaze Meadow’s practice putting green will host the Junior Putting Challenge at 3:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., Black Butte Ranch will host SNAG Golf (Starting New At Golf) at the Glaze Meadow driving range. The FREE lesson introduces kids age 7 and older to golf by using fun, oversized equipment. To sign up, call 541-595-1500 or stop by the Big Meadow golf shop.
Also for junior golfers, our popular three-day junior golf camps (July 3 and 5-6, July 10-12, July 17-19, and July 24-26) are a great place for kids to sharpen their skills. The Ranch tailors instruction to the age and abilities of each student, with a 1½-hour program for kids age 6 to 9 and a 2½-hour program for kids age 10 to 17. Each class size is limited to 15 golfers, which allows for plenty of attention from Black Butte Ranch’s staff of golf professionals.
Learning the game together can be a fantastic way for kids and parents to bond. For this, Black Butte Ranch has created the unique Adult/Child Three-Day Golf School, the first of which is scheduled for July 26-28. The Adult Child Golf School includes two hours of instruction each from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for both parents and their children, and pricess time spent together.
Book a tee time online, call 855-210-5305 or the Golf Shop at 541-595-1545.
