What To Do
At Black Butte Ranch there is an abundance of year round Oregon recreation. We are situated on 1800 acres of Oregon beauty meaning there is enough room for all of your activities. If you love hiking or biking enjoy 18 miles of paved paths to explore and enjoy at the Ranch. Stay outside and enjoy Phalarope Lake by canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board. Saddle up and explore Central Oregon on horseback with trail rides for all levels so everyone can participate. Stay inside and refresh at the spa or the sauna in the new Lakeside Complex featuring a pool, hot tub, fitness center, and award winning restaurants. Whatever you want to do we have limitless recreational opportunities.
What To Bring
With so many activities it is important to know what to bring. Figure out what you like to do and do not want to do. If you do not like hiking do not worry about bringing hiking shoes but if you like horseback riding grab your boots! There are so many outdoor activities that we recommend that you bring closed toed shoes or strappy sandals so you can join in on the fun and not worry about getting hurt. If you want to jump in the water, bring your swimsuit and sunscreen. With horseback riding, we recommend wearing long pants to avoid scratches and protects you from saddles. Also, sturdy boots or shoes will help keep your foot in the stirrup. Another important thing to bring on your trip is a camera! Take pictures to document the time of your life at Black Butte Ranch. Don’t worry if you forget something because we have retail shops on our ranch for you to grab those last minute items or to go shopping!
