Black Butte Ranch is proud of its two championship golf courses — Big Meadow and Glaze Meadow — but we are not typically ones to brag. Sometimes, though, we get high praise from some of the golf industry’s top publications.

When that happens, well, we are going to share.

Golfweek magazine, one of the foremost authorities on the game, announced its annual state-by-state rankings last week. And Big Meadow fared quite well, coming in at the No. 9 course you can play in all of Oregon.

That puts Big Meadow in truly elite company, sharing the list with not only the best in the state, but some of the most renowned courses in the world.

Here is a look at Golfweek’s Oregon rankings:

  1. Pacific Dunes, Bandon
  2. Old Macdonald, Bandon
  3. Bandon Dunes, Bandon
  4. Bandon Trails, Bandon
  5. Tetherow, Bend
  6. Pronghorn (Nicklaus), Bend
  7. Pumpkin Ridge (Ghost Creek), Cornelius
  8. Aspen Lakes, Sisters
  9. Black Butte Ranch (Big Meadow), Black Butte
  10. Sunriver (Crosswater), Sunriver

You might have also noticed just how well Central Oregon as a whole fared, claiming five of the top 10 courses on the list. Yes, Central Oregon is truly a golf mecca.

With Big Meadow and Glaze Meadow, we feel we have much to offer golfers, including one of the most affordable golf experiences on the Golfweek list. But we understand that when in a such a golf-rich area, players may just want to explore some of the region’s other top courses.

Black Butte Ranch is here help.

For starters, we are proud to partner with Tetherow this year for an exclusive package that allows golfers to enjoy the best of both resorts. Each package is customizable, too.

“Black Butte Ranch is proud of the quality of our two championship golf courses, and it is wonderful to receive recognition from a national publication such as Golfweek,” said Ryan Dunning, Black Butte Ranch’s group sales manager. “And being able to partner with a world-class facility such as Tetherow only adds to the appeal of Black Butte Ranch.”

More than that, we work with every course in Central Oregon to customize packages (including lodging, golf, brewery tours, fly fishing, etc.) that ensure the best pricing and ultimate golf experience during your stay in Central Oregon.

A golfer can also get a taste of Oregon’s best through competition, too. Black Butte Ranch’s Glaze Meadow is again a host of the Central Oregon Shootout, joining Aspen Lakes Golf Course (No. 8 on the Golfweek list) and the Eagle Crest Resort Course. In its 14th year, this three-day partners tournament has grown into one of the best-attended golf tournaments in Central Oregon.

The tournament is schedule for April 21-24. Download the information flyer and registration form.
