Summer Activities for Kids at Black Butte Ranch
At Black Butte Ranch, we take the fun of our junior guests seriously, so young ones can play, dream and experience a memorable and fun vacation too. We deliver a wonderful selection of kids classes, programs and camps with arts and crafts, sports and games as well as a playground activities. Try your skill at our 25-foot climbing wall during the summer or enjoy slack-lining, ceramics and more!
Many activities will take place at Lakeside Activity Center, located just west of the Lodge. Sports equipment (soccer balls, Frisbees, volleyballs, basketballs, footballs, softballs & croquet equipment), games and other activities are available here. The Lakeside Activity Center also rents Wheel Fun bikes and fly-fishing equipment. Kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards are available at the Lakeside pool during the summer.

Day Camp
Day Camp is offered Monday-Friday during the summer with morning, afternoon session and full-day sessions available. Morning sessions run from 9:30am-12:30pm and afternoon sessions run from 1pm-4pm. All day sessions are available from 9:30am-4pm. Included lunch optional during registration. Outdoor activity-based camp where campers enjoy activities ranging from boating, sports, and scavenger hunts. Please pre-apply sunscreen and come equipped with a water bottle and additional sunscreen. Ages 7-12, preregistration and waiver required. Register at 541-595-1282. $55 ½ day | $100 full day per kid.

Arts & Crafts for Kids
The Lakeside Activity Center offers supervised hour and a half long arts and crafts sessions during the summer. Sessions run twice a day from 10am-11:30am and 3:30-5pm. Crafts may include paintings, pinecone critters, windcatchers, bird feeders, and more. Ages 4-6, preregistration and waiver required. Register at 541-595-1282.
The program is offered Monday-Friday, and once a day from 10:00am-11:30am. | $20 per kid.

Parents Night Out
The Lakeside Activity Center is happy to offer Parents Night Out Thursday-Saturday from 6pm-8pm during the summer. Parents, drop your kids off at our activity center and enjoy an evening dining at our award-winning Lodge. Kids will enjoy a variety of supervised activities ranging from ping-pong, movies, board games, and more. Included pizza dinner optional during registration. Ages 4-12, preregistration and waiver required. Register at 541-595-1282.
The registration closes at 3:00pm the day of and we need a minimum of three sign ups total to run the program, or else the program will be cancelled. $55 w/dinner | $45 w/o per kid.

Climbing Wall
Ages 4 and older; scale our 24 foot portable climbing wall; $8 per climber.

Ceramics
All art pieces must be picked up the next day after 11am.

Parental Guidance
Day camp will no longer be the only program where children under 10 can be dropped off alone. “Parents Night Out” and “Arts and Crafts for Kids” will also be added to staff supervised activities. Please note that general activities at LAC, such as ceramics, tie dye, and weekend arts and crafts will require supervision for children under 10, as well of usage of the game-room area.
Children must be able to put on their own sunscreen or come with it pre-applied. Ages 4-12. Waiver required. Please pre-register at 541-595-1282.
For all other activities, please check with the instructor for finish time for activities that last an hour (i.e., ceramics, tie-dye, bingo, and stuffed animals). Once the class is over, participants are free to leave.
Family Recreation Area
Just a short walk from GMRC is the Family Recreation Area. Follow the path from the playground behind Glaze Meadow green #6. The area offers a full-court basketball court, four pickle ball courts, two bocce ball courts and two horseshoe pits. Pickleball and bocce ball sets can be rented and courts reserved on the hour through GMRC. Call 541-595-5881 for details and information.
Sports Field
The Sports Field is located at the Y near Big Meadow Golf Course. Activities include basketball, sand volleyball, soccer and a playground. The picnic pavilion at the south end may be rented for special events (Contact Catering at 541-595-1267) Sports equipment (soccer balls, frisbees, volleyballs, basketballs, footballs, softballs & croquet equipment), games and other activities are available for rent or checkout at the Lakeside Activity Center.
