With no less than seven of the Cascade’s high mountain peaks in sight, giant stands of Ponderosa pines, Aspens and abundant wildlife, hiking around the resort’s 18 miles of paved paths is an energizing way to discover the Ranch.
The 1.6 million acre Deschutes National Forest is our backyard, providing endless opportunities to soak in the great outdoors. Deschutes Land Trust offers many hikes near the Ranch. Check their calendar and sign up.
Suggested area hikes:
Black Butte Lookout
Every visitor should make this hike at least once. It’s a moderately strenuous 3.8 mile hike from the trailhead to the lookout tower and back. The summit provides panoramic views of the Sisters area, including Black Butte Ranch.
The Metolius River in Camp Sherman provides an easy hike that takes you into some of the region’s most beautiful country.
Sisters Tie Trail
This trail run a little over six miles. It’s a nice back country walk in the woods.
A hike through easy terrain that allows you to take in the splendor of the area. Fed by underground springs, the headwaters come up right from the ground—a fascinating wonder of nature.
This strenuous seven-mile roundtrip provides a challenging hike with some steep climbs. The summit gives you an unparalleled 360-degree view of the Three Sisters.
The perfect hike for families and kids. During the 1.25-mile loop, hikers will encounter two beautiful waterfalls nestled in the forest.
