Don't Miss These Day Trips
  • Climb Black Butte and get a birds eye view of the Ranch
  • Check out the wildflowers on Iron Mountain in July
  • Visit Skylight Caves near 5 Mile Butte
  • Hike along the Metolius River, starting at the headwaters.
  • Visit the fish hatchery at Wizard Falls on the Metolius
  • Take a fly casting class at the Ranch and then try your luck on the Metolius River, which is known as a world-class fly fishing river.
  • Get a deli sandwich at the Camp Sherman store and go for a picnic at one of the campgrounds along the Metolius River.
  • Walk to Paulina Spring
  • Find the Santiam Wagon Road on the Ranch
  • Take a mountain bike ride around Suttle Lake
  • Canoe on Clear Lake
  • Visit the hot springs swimming pools at Belknap Springs (1 hour away from BBR)
  • Take the scenic Hwy 242 over McKenzie Pass on your return trip from Belknap and hike in to Proxy Falls. Near the Cascade crest, visit the Dee Wright Observatory.
