Catch and Release Fly Fishing

Phalarope Lake is the perfect place to learn to fly fish, with Big Meadow behind you there is little for that fly to get hung up on. We offer fly fishing clinics during the summer, and you can rent fly fishing gear from the Rec Center. Check the Rec Guide for dates.


Fly fishing for trout is allowed only in Phalarope Lake by the Lodge. Please save the other lakes for the wildlife.

Barbless hooks & “catch and release” procedures are required. An Oregon fishing license is needed. The Rec Center sells daily licenses and flies and rents fly rods. (Must be 12 years or older to use the fly rods.)
