The next Photography in the Aspens workshop
by Rick Schafer will take place Saturday, February 9, 2008 and Sunday, February 10, 2008.
This new Winter in the Aspens workshop features black and white photography.
Students will be using some of Ray Atkeson's images to learn about the nuaces of black and white photography, retouching and printing.

What to Expect
Enjoy a weekend with Rick Schafer that will take you to the next level in your photography. Both photo shoots and classroom time feature individualized attention and coaching.
Included in the weekend are instructional and field sessions, a framed print to take home and a quantum leap in your photographic abilities. |
Pre-requisites
This workshop is designed for Intermediate - Advanced photographers. Students will need a digital camera with manual settings, a working knowledge of how to use it, and a tripod. Bring a laptop and card reader, with image editing software installed.
Dress in layers, bring warm clothing and be ready for early morning and evening outdoor photo shoots. |

About Rick Schafer
Rick Schafer is a professional photographer and had the opportunity to study under his stepfather, the late Photographer Laureate of Oregon, Ray Atkeson for 12 years, and has built on that experience to develop a photographic style all his own.
Rick continues the tradition of Ray’s best- selling Oregon, Oregon II and Oregon III with his own journey across the state. Rick’s other books include Oregon IV, Oregon Golf, Portrait of Oregon, Magnificent Places: Oregon Coast and McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Cookbook.
