My Teaching Philosophy
My goal is to provide the student a path to improvement that allows the student to learn on their own. Whether this begins with the basics (grip, stance and posture) to advanced techniques.
The ball when hit only cares about three things. Clubhead path, clubface position and angle of approach. My philosophy focuses on improving the student in one or all of these areas, by providing drills and techniques the student is given a clear path for improvement.
Beginners: I start the student with grip, stance and posture. I will have the student create a hitting station to create consistency in the setup process. Next, I will train the student an impact drill to get the ball in the air. This drill also coordinates the feeling of the arms and legs working together and will create a consistency and build the students’ confidence.
Seniors: Loss of flexibility is the most important issue facing Seniors. Stretching exercises and clubhead special drills are ways to find that lost twenty yards.
Short Game: Ten to 60 yards is the most important part of golf. Whether it is chipping, pitching, sand play or lag putting, these shots are the most influential on your score. Learning the techniques and how to practice are the key elements in building a strong short game. |
