The news last week that Nike was getting out of the golf equipment business certainly reverberated around the golf world. For those who have been sleeping, or actually going out and enjoying the gorgeous summer weather, Nike Golf will no longer manufacturer clubs, bags and balls.

That doesn’t mean that Nike Golf equipment suddenly disappeared off the shelves. In fact, the swoosh is still a fairly prominent fixture at Black Butte Ranch’s two golf shops.

But because of Nike Golf’s departure from the equipment-making business, Nike equipment has never been less expensive.

For golf clubs, 2016 model Nike drivers are on sale for $150, fairway woods for $100, and hybrids have been slashed to $90. Nike RZN Platinum and Black golf balls are on sale for $28 per dozen.

All of these prices represent significant discounts off retail pricing.

“At such a discount, it would be difficult to find a better price on current-year models,” said Jeff Fought, director of golf at Black Butte Ranch. “Typically to find those kind of deals one would have to wait until those clubs are at least a year old.”

For those who still love the fit and feel of its clothing, Nike has said that it will continue to produce golf shoes and apparel.

And Nike still remains among our most popular brands. As such, Black Butte Ranch will continue to carry their lines, as we do for most every major manufacturer.

Some of Black Butte Ranch’s best deals of the year on apparel are coming up on Labor Day Weekend during the annual Labor Day Tent Sale.

It turns out now is an awfully good time to buy, particularly for bargain hunters.
