Thank you Veterans

November 10th, 2009 by Katie

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Elmer Davis

I was reading recently about the USS New York, a new battleship built with steel from the World Trade Center. That’s the true American spirit.

Whenever something devastating happens to this country as a whole, we have a unique way of banding together and saying “never again will this happen on our soil.”  But that attitude would not be possible if it were not for the brave men and women who serve this country in one of most unselfish ways – with their lives.

We salute all veterans and those currently serving in the military, not only those whose roots are borne out Central Oregon but all over the United States. Here at Black Butte Ranch we are able to roam freely, explore amazing places such as the Metolius River,  golf, ride bikes, celebrate and build family traditions that will carry on for generations.  We can do these things because we know that our military will protect those freedoms.

Happy Veteran’s Day!
