8. Visit Dee Wright Observatory

Standing atop the windswept McKenzie Pass at 5,187 feet, the Dee Wright Observatory looks like the lonely lair of a robber baron. The view from the observatory is nothing short of spectacular, offering a panorama of the Cascades.

9. Snowshoe through the Back-Country

Snowshoeing is an excellent way to discover the quiet of snow-blanketed forests of Sisters Country. Upper Three Creeks Sno Park and Ray Benson Sno Park, near Hoodoo, are usually great bets for your snowshoe excursion.

Whitewater rafting trips make outstanding family adventures. The McKenzie River is widely regarded as the finest river-running experience in the region.
