in Central Oregon at the Ranch
The Ranch has 21 tennis courts clustered throughout the resort. The Tennis Office is located at the Glaze Meadow Recreation area in the Tennis Building.
Court reservations are required from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day. Homesite and phone numbers are needed to reserve a court. Please call 541.595.1285 one day prior to play to make tennis reservations.
Reservation Courts
Lodge #3-4, Glaze Meadow# 5-12; South Meadow# 15-16.
Limit of 2 hours per homesite per day, including lighted court time.

1 hour of play, per homesite, per day; Courts are lit until 11p

Tennis Instruction
Director of Tennis, Greg Smith, USPTA runs Ranch summer clinics, workshops and group and private lessons from June 14-September 10, 2010.
Group tennis lessons are offered at Glaze Meadow Courts #13 & 14. Each lesson is limited to 8 participants, with a minimum of 2 people required. Call 541.595.1285 to schedule group and private tennis lessons.
Adult Stroke of the Day
Learn and solidify tennis stroke fundamentals and strategies in a lively and challenging format.
Monday: Groundstrokes; Wednesday: Serve & Return; Friday: Net Play. M/W/F, 9am-10am $20
Advanced Adult Drills & Play
A lively session focusing on skill enhancing drills, point simulations, and game scenarios. Level 3.5 + T/Th/Sat 9am-10am, $20
Junior Clinic: Youth Class 1
A class for juniors, ages 6-8, who are just beginning or who have had some experience but need to develop their skills and learn to play games. M/W 3pm-4pm $15
Junior Clinic: Youth Class 2
For 9-12 year olds, this class features fundamental skill development in a challenging yet recreational atmosphere. T/Th 3:00pm-4:00pm $15
Private Lessons
Talk with Greg Smith, USPTA to set up a private clinic for your team or club group.
Private: $35 per 1⁄2 hour or $60/hour
Semi-private: add $10 per person for 1 hour $5/ person per 1⁄2 hour to the private rate
Weekend Doubles Tennis Camp, $160 per person, July 9-11 and August 6-8, 2010

This dynamic Adult Doubles Camp will feature doubles drills, strategies, positioning, working with your teammate, stroke development, and supervised, coached doubles play. Bring your team, teammate, or come as a single. Additional private lessons are available each Saturday afternoon upon request.
Nike Tennis Camp will be held at the Ranch this summer June 21-24. The Nike Tennis Camp will be directed by DJ Gurule, the Womens Head Coach and Peter MacDonald, the Mens Head Coach at Gonzaga University. DJ and Peter co-direct the extremely popular Nike Tennis Camp at Gonzaga and bring years of experience and knowledge to the court. Both are excited about the opportunity to bring the Nike Camp tradition to such a beautiful resort setting at Black Butte Ranch.
Tennis Tournaments & Opportunities to Play
USTA Junior Challenger and Adult NTRP Labor Day Tournament will take place at the Ranch September 4-6, 2010. All USTA JR. players are invited to participate in thel Black Butte Ranch Junior Challenger, a USTA sanctioned event #600110011. Adults are welcome in the NTRP Adult Tournament #600110511. Join us for Monday evening Round Robin events for adults and advanced juniors. Play will be from 4-6pm at Glaze Meadow Courts #10-14. $5 entree fee. Prizes for the top male and top female players.
Adult Drop-in Tennis
Drop in at Glaze Meadow #10-12 from 8am-10am and play pick-up games.
Men’s Day is Tuesday; Ladies’ Day is Wednesday ; Mixed Doubles play on Thursdays

The Glaze Meadow Tennis office keeps a list of people interested in playing tennis. Call 595.1206 and leave your name, ability level and phone number, or talk with the Pro.
Rentals and Repair
Tennis rackets are available for rent at the Rental Shop. 541.595.5877. Rental Rates - $2 per hour or $6 per day.
Stringing service is available through Greg Smith, USPTA at the Tennis office.
