Cycling in Sisters Country

Experience the Ranch on a Bike!

Black Butte Ranch has 18 miles of paved bike paths, and is a great way to explore the area. Check the Bike Path Map to pick your route.

The Glaze Meadow Rental Shop has a new fleet of Marin® Stinson Comfort Bikes and Bolinas Ridge Mountain Bikes for rent. The Marin Stinson bikes are noted for comfort and efficiency and are perfect for our paved bike paths. The Marin Bolinas Ridge bike is great for tackling singletrack. Call the Rental Shop at 541.595.5877 for details.

Sisters is now a silver level bicycle friendly community, as designated by the League of American Bicylists. Sisters is home to three Scenic Bikeways:  McKenzie Pass, Metolius Loops and Sisters to Smith Rock State Park.

The Sisters Country is one of the premier mountain biking regions in the state. The best known and most popular trails include the Peterson Ridge Trail System with its trailhead within the city limits, the Suttle Tie Trail between Black Butte Ranch and Suttle Lake, and the nearby McKenzie River Trail, which is widely regarded as one of the great epic bike trails in North America.

The Sisters Trail Alliance maintains trails around Sisters Country, along with the US Forest Service, the City of Sisters, the sisters-mtn-bike-festival285.jpgSisters Chamber of Commerce, the Sisters School District and the Sisters Parks and Recreation District. Some of the routes are near the Ranch, and plans are in place for a paved bike path from Sisters to Suttle Lake. Check trail options at the Sisters Community Trail Maps page and the Popular Trails page.

The Sisters Mountain Bike Festival is September 24-25.  Have some fun and support the Sisters Trail Alliance!
